Career Practitioner Core Academy

The Career Practitioner Core Academy enhances the competencies of workforce development professionals. This academy provides evidence-based strategies, practical tools and current labor market insights to support job seekers—particularly those receiving public assistance—in achieving sustainable employment outcomes. Participants will strengthen their facilitation skills, improve client engagement, and learn to align job readiness services with the demands of today’s evolving workforce.

Each module includes interactive activities, real-world applications and opportunities for reflection to ensure participants can immediately apply their learning in the field.

Module 1: Strategies for Engaging a Multi-Generational Workforce

This module equips facilitators with the skills to effectively engage learners across three primary generational cohorts: Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z. Participants will explore generational values, communication styles, and learning preferences to foster inclusive, bias-free environments. Emphasis is placed on adapting instruction and feedback to meet diverse learner needs and building rapport across age groups.

After attending this module, participants will be able to:

  • Identify key generational characteristics and learning preferences to inform instructional design.
  • Apply inclusive communication strategies to foster trust and reduce generational bias.
  • Design adaptive training environments that promote collaboration and engagement across age groups.

Module 2: Strategic Career Advisor Tools for Workforce Success

This module provides facilitators with up-to-date labor market intelligence and coaching strategies to help clients navigate the modern job search. Participants will analyze hiring trends, employer expectations, and the impact of remote and hybrid work models. The training emphasizes aligning client strengths with current recruitment practices to improve employment outcomes.

After attending this module, participants will be able to:

  • Interpret labor market data to identify high-growth industries and in-demand skills.
  • Develop coaching strategies that align with employer expectations and hiring practices.
  • Equip clients with digital job search tools and techniques suited for today’s workforce.

Fee Details: The enrollment fee for this 4-day class is $1020.00 per participant or .24 training units for those utilizing their county contract. This fee includes quality instruction from subject-matter expert(s), research-based curricula and all digital course materials.

Training Format: This program will be offered via remote learning using Zoom. Login information will be provided after your enrollment is processed.
