Leadership Development Program

The purpose of this program is to develop skilled leaders prepared for positions of greater responsibility in their agencies and communities. Program goals include broadening the perspective of participants, building concrete skills for effective leadership, and promoting the kind of personal change and growth necessary to lead and move organizations in new directions.

New to the Leadership Development Program is coaching between sessions to support growth and application of new concepts on the job.  The program consists of 16 days of training conducted in two-day sessions over eight months.

Management Development Program

The Management Development Program is designed to boost the effectiveness of managers by expanding their understanding of the manager’s role, stimulating insights about personal strengths and weaknesses, and exploring—and practicing—concrete and practical management skills. Program participants use feedback from a variety of sources and support from a coach to strengthen their skills and capacity to achieve desired organizational results.

The program consists of 16 days of training conducted in two-day sessions over eight months.

Supervisory Effectiveness Program

The Supervisory Effectiveness Programs are designed for human services professionals in all program areas. The purpose of these programs is to develop the skills of new supervisors and elevate the skills of experienced supervisors.

Supervisory Effectiveness Program Series 1: Leading People

This series introduces key concepts in supervision, including fostering teamwork within a work group. Powerful tools for learning, change and growth include monitoring, evaluating and improving employee performance and as such, these tools are stressed in this program. The activities we focus on lead to a clear understanding of employee roles and responsibilities and how supervisors can keep employees apprised of their job performance.

Supervisory Effectiveness Program Series 2: Leading Processes

Supervisors increasingly provide leadership within their agencies, with other agencies, and even with community organizations. This series will cover skills for managing a variety of processes with staff and in larger contexts. It will also prepare supervisors to assume a leadership role in agencies and collaborative efforts.
