Child and family teams are convened to elicit
- strengths
- needs
- services
- commitment
The team includes
- the child (whenever possible)
- the family (membership is determined by the family)
- service providers currently serving the family
- potential service providers
- informal as well as formal support services
The team is unconditional in its support of the child and family and
- constantly evolves in membership and focus
- moves toward a preponderance of informal providers
- addresses immediate needs such as safety and crisis plans as well as long-term needs
