Supervisory Effectiveness Program
In today's dynamic organizational environment, supervisors are required to effectively resolve issues involving individuals and processes. Creativity and critical thinking skills are prerequisites to successfully optimizing the performance of team members.
Agencies regularly leverage the Supervisory Effectiveness Program to develop the skills of both new and experienced supervisors. The program systematically develops performance management skills. The program also can be used to improve communication and cooperation among supervisors in related agencies, by involving participants from multiple organizations within a county or groups from different counties.
Recommended Program Delivery
The Supervisory Effectiveness Program consists of two series. Each series is designed to be delivered sequentially over a period of several months to allow on-the-job opportunities to apply and practice new concepts. A period of three to six months between each series allows participants to solidify their new skills.
Participation is limited to 25 people to ensure a focus on individual needs. Because each series is sequential, it is important that supervisors can commit to completing each series throughout the duration of the training.
Series 1: Leading People
Series 2: Leading Processes
