Service Integration
Agencies are increasingly finding a crossover in caseloads for economic assistance and child protective services. This crossover is consistent with research findings linking poverty to the risk of child abuse and neglect. One response at the local and state level has been an effort to find ways to integrate public assistance and child welfare services.
Training described here supports the effort. It covers a broad range of skills and issues involved in holistically servicing clients and their families--whether first contact with the agency comes through public assistance or child welfare.
The training can be delivered to groups of staff from throughout the agency. It is also highly appropriate for system change efforts involving partner agencies in the community.
